Sandymouth Surprise....... The Search.

The Search for waves never ends. I started surfing 17 years ago when page 398 (the old surf report page) on Ceefax was the best info we could get. SurfCall followed soon after - a horrendously expensive premium rate line where you would spend £10 to here some guy, who sounded like he was in Sydney, guess what the surf was like in North Devon!! :-) The internet of course has changed all that - we now check the bouy readings, WAM charts, and an endless list of forecasting and webcam sites to get up to the minute reports. The element of SEARCHING is still there though (half the fun if you ask me). This pic was taken on a day where according to the cams, forecasts, WAM, bouys etc etc etc it was "flat - 1ft"...... 4ft perfection and one hell of a session at Sandymouth with far less people in the line-up than "forecast" :-) Posted by Picasa

"C Street" Ventura County, Near LA.

Crowded but GREAT long peeling waves at C Street, V entura. Got some very nice rides here ......... when you manage to steal one off the longboarders that is ! :-) Posted by Picasa
