Sidmouth - Jacob's Ladder (24th Oct 09)

Mark made the reverse journey from N Dev - E Devon and back again (a journey that I have made many many many many times) to experience the delights of Sidmouth - with it's chocolate brown water, howling winds, and lumpy / "lost at sea" style surf !! After eating giant slabs of cake at the Jacob's Ladder cafe we surfed Jacob's first and then moved over for another session at main beach (with although small was very clean!).
There is no denying the fact that local surf conditional are at best 'average' (unless your name is Roz and you are convinced that Sandy Bay is at least as good as Pipe! ha ha ! ) ......... BUT , it was a surf. My quad now has 3 new holes in it care of the rocks at Jacobs and Mark's board also ended up with a ding! The wind at Main Beach for the second session was incredible ...... after 1.5 hrs of staring into the howling wind and spray I felt like my eyeballs had been sand-blasted :0)
