Sandy Bay Reef 6th Feb 2010

After the huge surf on the North coast yesterday it was time for something a bit more 'realistic' today. The swell that produced the massive surf at Fistral yesterday pushed up the south coast today and produced some really nice 2ft+ surf over the reef at Sandy Bay. The sun came out and the winds dropped right off while we were in there and Gary Macdonald and I got some really fun rides during a 2hr session.

Had a fun 2hr surf and then drove to Exeter to meet John and watch the Liverpool v Everton game over a pint of guinness! ....... a good day :-)

5th Feb 2010: Massive Fistral !

Unfortunately, having spent the last month virtually 'desk-bound', today seemed MUCH too big to even consider paddling out! There were regular 1.5 - double overhead clean sets grinding through at Fistral. With just 4 surfers in the water and "up 4 it" it was definately a day for taking photos. The Cribber was breaking at about 8ft but nobody was on it ....... by 1pm the winds had picked up and it was pretty gnarly looking over there!

Fancy "duck-diving" through this!!!?

Yikes!!.........

The same swell is due to push up the channel by tomorrow as there is plenty of 'South' in it...... so fingers crossed for some "local" action ...... watch this space ;0)

January 2010 : Work, Work, Work, Work, Work, ......... no surfing ! (aaaaaaargh!)
