20 March 2010: Back in the surf once more !!! Sooooooooooo good :-)

With the last few days in the 5-6ft and gnarly looking range, it was looking like Mark & I would be returning to the water in less than ideal 'MACKING' onshore conditions. I got up at 5am to make the dark, wet and early journey up to North Devon for first light and high tide shelter at Puts. Expecting horrid surf I was drinking Relentless energy drink and eating bananas all the way! This was one of those rare occasions where the MSW forecast, the K2 buoy data, and the met office wind forecasts were simply "wrong". It was meant to be 5ft plus with moderate to fresh SW'lies messing conditions up............. The view of the line-up as I pulled into the P-Land lookout was a beauty to behold!...... 3ft lined-up, clean - glassy surf with virtually no wind at all. Really nice. GET ON!!!

It was great to be back in the water and surfing quality waves again.

A 2.5hr really fun session went down before we were both knackered and frozen and seriously in need of a full English breakfast. We both surfed pretty well and caught plenty of waves. As the big spring tide dropped back slightly the surf started to break nicely at a consistent 2-3ft with the odd 3-4ft set. Perfecto! ;0)
