Black Rock, Bude, Kernow (Sunday 30 May 2010)
It's warm, sunny, and there is surf ...... good in many ways but unfortunately this also means that a lot of the "main" breaks are loaded full of kooks 'PLAYING'. Black Rock is just a short walk away from Widemouth but the kook-count was "zero". A few rocks and an extra bit of power in the waves keeps them away which was great.....
The surf report had Bude area down as 4ft on a 11 seconds period. It was lovely and glassy with most of the surf in the 3ft range with the odd 4ft plus set to get the juices flowing....
This pic looks a bit closer to the rocks that it really was. In reality it was "FINE". At this size the worst that is really going to happen is a ding to your board, or in Mark's case .... leg.

To really get the full and frankly "bloody amazing" feeling of surfing a quality wave you have to be prepared to push yourself to gain the rewards. Mark pays his price for experiencing the "in the zone" utter pleasure of surfing quality waves. Good man ! :-)
