LANDS END SURF TRIP - 10,11,12 July 2010

Day 1: Warm up session at Sennen Cove. Small waves but great fun and really good to have Rob, Mark and myself back in the line-up again catching waves and having a laugh.

Robert “Well Hang” Joslin and Mark “Soap Dodger” V**n at ground zero with bacon sizzling in the pan and the Bar-B-Q heating up nicely ready to cook up a gastronomic delight. After the Bar-B-Q we hitched a lift to The Old Success Inn at Sennen for a few jars of Cornish Ale and a live band night. At the end of the night it seemed like a good idea to walk back to the campsite. This seemed less of a great idea when after miles and miles of walking in the pitch black and torrential rain we arrived at the campsite soaked through to the bones. :-) It was quite funny though …….we attempted to hitch on the way back but there was effectively 0% chance of anyone picking up three rain-drenched, drunk, idiots in the middle of nowhere.

In the background you may just about be able to see Mark’s new Vango ‘Big Mac’ Tent’ette ……..so called because apparently it looked twice the size in the picture when he bought it online! It has an amazing ‘pop-up’ design feature which means that it can be erected in literally seconds. However, after 1 hour spent trying to get, I quote “the little f*cker”, back into it's bag I thought Mark was going to have some kind of mental breakdown and throw it in the hedge. It seemed to be like trying to push toothpaste back into the tube!!

Mark’s chronic "showerphobia" resulted in a zero wash count during 3 days of camping!!…… I was really worried that he was going to start to attract badgers during the night!

Mark’s passion for all things astronomical finally pays dividends when he manages to spot and capture this baby UFO !!!!! :-) At last some form of intelligent life form arrives at Lower Treave !! :-)

Parking Meter - Cornish Style !!!!

GWENVOR ......

This is a simply amazing surf spot. Incredibly scenic, crystal clear water, and great left and rights. We started off on the hollow lefts and later moved further down the beach to surf some lovely rights when the banks started to work. I LOVE this place !!!!!

The left hander at Gwenvor ......... caught some beauties here! :-)
